Rana Daggubati has got his much-needed hit as a Solo Hero with last Friday release, ‘Ghazi’. The movie has got good talk from Telugu, Tamil and Hindi industries which will give the much needed push to Rana’s career after ‘Baahubali’. The fact that the movie has got no competition from other films except for ‘Om Namo Venkatesaya’ and ‘Singam-3’ which lost pace at the box-office is helping the movie big time.
After a considerably slow start at the Overseas Box-Office on its first day, the movie picked pace over the weekend. By the last update from Rentrack at 9.30 PM CST on Sunday, the movie has collected $105K from 76 locations. That takes the total to $420K and counting in the first weekend. The movie is likely to get to the half a million by Monday or Tuesday. Monday is a holiday for several offices due to President’s day. So, Monday can be the day.
That will be the first Half a million feat for Rana at the USA Box-office (as a Solo Hero). Daggubati fans will be fancying their chances for the One Million Dollars Marks. They will be banking at the superb positive talk and the presence of no significant releases at the box-office except for Sai Dharam Tej’s ‘Winner’ releasing this Friday. ‘Ghazi’ is based on the true incidents on the mysterious sinking of PNS Ghazi, a Pakistan submarine during the Indo-Pak 1971 war. The film is based on a novel named ‘The Blue Fish’. The author of that book, Sankalp Reddy, is making his debut as a director with this movie. Here is the break-up of ‘Ghazi’ First Weekend Collections:
