Movie: Jayammu Nischayammu Raa review
Director: Shiva Raj Kanumuri
Behind the screens
Comedian and character actor Sreenivas Reddywho attracted turning hero in Geetanjali which turned out to be a sensation on debut is now comingout to entertain movie lovers with Jayammu Nischayammu Raa. Let us see what impact the film will make on movie lovers in theatres.
Sarvamangalam (Srinivas Reddy) who hails from Karimnagar gets government job and gets posting in Kakinada. Sarvamangalam who is superstitious believes that he is getting success not due to hard work or talent but due to the superstitions he is following. He always contacts swamiji (Jeeva) to take any important decision and he starts following Mee Seva employee Rani (Poorna) after swamiji informs him that she is her lucky charm and he will scale new heights if she is with him.
Even as Sarvamangalam tries his best to get transfer to Karimnagar to take care of his ill mother, he will be surrounded with various problems. His boss (Ravi Varma) a womaniser makes use of his innocense for his indecent proposals. He makes enemies with him when he saves Poorna from his clutches and even goes onestep ahead to get sanction for her boutique from the government. His superior warns that if he wants transfer, he should dance to his tunes. How Sarvamangalam comes out of this situation with his superstition should be enjoyed on silver screen.
Srinivas Reddy showed his acting talent with his performance. He attracted as a person caring as a son, lover and who lacks self confidence due to his superstitions. Srinivas Reddy showed variations in his expressions and impressed with his dialogue delivery especially telangana accent. He attracted with his comedy and showing different kind of emotions.
Porrna attracted in her traditional role. She is a bit deglamorous and performed well as a girl who considers various options becoming extremely selective just like genex gals. Ravi Varma is natural as a superior who uses his employees for ulterior motive. Others like Posani Krishna Murali, Jeeva etc performed as per their roles and their situational comedy.
Shiva Raj Kanumuri tried to show superstitious Telangana guy in love with traditional Andhra girl. For a change he used Telangana accent extensively for the film in a story which has nothing new to offer. Despite this Shiva Raj Kanumuri manages to gain the attention of all with numerous comedy scenes in the first half. Except for lack of romantic elements among the lead pair, first half sails off smoothly. Interval twist is smooth and second half turns more serious.
Dialogues are Ok to an extent and Shiva Raj Kumar’s screenplay and direction is just Ok. Twists are predictable and climax generates interest of the movie lovers though the pre-climax is little dragged. Masses especially Telangana people may like the film for its Telangana accent and few dialogues but it has to be seen how other people will receive it.
Film has no real entertainment and even Srinivas Reddy’s role is pretty serious always worrying about his transfer or whether he will win the heart of the heroine. Film’s success depends how movie lovers receive the same age old story.
Music of Ravichandra is good. He gave couple of melodious songs. Background score elevated the scenes. Nagesh Banell’s cinematography cast a magic spell on everyone. He captured all beautiful locations from the shooting spots and beautified the film in a grand manner. Venkat could have worked on to remove the drags and slow pace of the film as a editor. Film’s production values are good.
