Behind the screens
King Nagarjuna’s nephew Sumanth after a gap of two years is coming to entertain with Naruda Donaruda which is slated for grand release on Nov 4. Film is generating tremendous interest as Sumanth dared to turn sperm donor in the film which is the remake of Hindi hit Vicky Donor. Film’s first look, teaser and trailer created impact and let us see what impact the film created on movie lovers.
Story Line
Vicky aka Vikram (Sumanth), a B.Com graduate leads life aimlessly thriving on his mother (Sri Lakshmi) who runs her own beauty parlour after the death of her husband, a soldier during kargil war. Vicky turns sperm donor after repeated requests from Dr. Anjaneyulu (Tanikella Bharani) to get rich quickly and escape dialy insults from his mother. However life turns upside down when he gets attracted to a Bengali girl Ashima Roy (Pallavi Subhash), a bank employee who is also a divorcee. To findout the secret, watch Naruda Donaruda on screen.
Star Shine
Sumanth worked hard for the film. His efforts are seen on screen and he played his role effortlessly not overdoing himself. He showed good expressions and also brought variations as careless youth, lover boy, maintaining secret as a sperm donor and as a caring husband. Pallavi Subash looked good in couple of scenes but otherwise she looked deglamorous and ok in her role. Tanikella Bharani attracted with his performance but he got only one dialogue which he repeated innumerous times to test the patience of viewers. Others like  Suman Shetty,Jabardasth Sheshu, sunkara Lakshmi, Pushpa, Chalapati Raju, Bhadhram, Sri Lakshmi performed according to their roles.
Mallik Ram, on debut decided to remake Bollywood film Vicky Donor which won National award. Hindi version itself is inspired by Canadian French film Starbuck. However watching the remake viewers don’t get the feeling that the film won national award. Though the film is entertaining in the first half with good performances from Sumanth and Tanikella Bharani, dialogues are monotonous and nothing new. Comedy track offered nothing new though the actors performed. Mallik Ram’s screenplay is average and direction too offered nothing new. Second half turned serious after normal interval bang. The film drags at snail’s pace in the second half before interesting climax. Film lacks commercial elements and wholesome entertainment to succeed at the box office and the content alienates family viewers.
Sumanth and the filmmakers should be complimented for trying something new on Tollywood screen.
Sricharan Pakala’s music is average. There are just couple of songs which didnot make much impact. Background score is ok. Cinematography of Shaniel Deo elevated the film capturing nature’s beauty in a realistic manner. Editing of Karthika Srinivas could have been better especially in the second half. Production values are good.
