Movie: Life if Beautiful
Direction: Sekhar Kammula
Behind the screens:
Sekhar Kammula known for his creative and off beat films took sweet little time to come out of 'Leader' politics to say 'Life is Beautiful' with all new comers. He is promising to beautify silver screen showing beautiful colors of life and let us see what viewers feel of the film.
Amala sends her son Srinu aka Srinivas (Abhijit) along with her two daughters to Hyderabad to their grand parents and uncle's house promising to meet them after one year. Srinivas enter Sunshine Colony which is engulfed in rivalry between youngsters of Gold Phase and B phase blocks where people of different economic starta live.
There he meets Nagaraj(Sudhakar), Satya(Rashmi) and Lakshmi(zara). He duly fall in love with his aunt's daughter Paddu(Shagun) while Nagaraj is smitten by Lakshmi (Zara). Abhi (Kaushik) run after Paru (Shriya) who resides in Gold Phase. Entire gang relishes the beauty of Maya (Anjala Jhaveri). Why Amala sent her children to Hyderabad and how colorful their life changed in Hyderabad has to be seen on silver screen.
All the debutants put a commendable performances. Of them Sudhakar out scored all with his telangana diction while Abhijit resembled a bit of Naga Chaitanya in his looks. He emoted well through out the film. Amala's role is minimal and it is a cake walk for her. Surekha Vani, Rashmi did well while small kid Chinnu scored good marks.
Sekhar Kammula came up with a feel good film once again and it has 'Happy Days' shades written all over it. The only difference is while his earlier film revovled around a College back drop this film shifts to a Sunshine colony. He highlights the youthful rivalry between two different sections of the society living in the same colony and how it changes the lives of people residing in it. He chose 6 characters to narrate his view point. Though he got the story in a near perfect manner, Sekhar fumbled in script and screen play which is the more important aspect. His dialogues are good and some recieved applause from viewers.
Sekhar filled more emotions and even came up with mother sentiment in the film, and due to this some felt the story dragged for quite some time in the second half. Even the film's climax makes one yawn looking at the exit doors.
Production values of Amigos creations are quite good. Vijay Kumar's cinematography added colors of life on silver screen. Mickey J Meyer created Happy Days magic once again with his title song 'Life is Beautiful' reverberating through out the film.Recording is excellent. Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh could have been much more perfect.
Teenagers and genex viewers will love the film. It has to be seen how B,C centers connect with the theme. Most of the narration and characherization you feel that 'Happy Days' is shifted from College to Colony. Slow narration makes one feel that it takes eternity for life to become beautiful.
