Sana Khan, the Mumbai born Kuwaiti Model turned heroine, who made her entry with special appearances in Bollywood, makes her debut full length role(as heroine) in Kollywood with Simbu in “Silambattam”. Now, she made her entry into Tollywood with Kalyanram’s upcoming film “Kalyanram Kathi” under NTR Arts banner which is going to hit the theatres on tomorrow. Here is an exclusive chit chat with this upcoming actress by myfirstshow team…

Myfirstshow :  Could you tell us about your background and film journey?

Sana Khan :  I was born and brought up in Mumbai, I completed my +2 in the specialization of arts and after that I started my career as a model in Mumbai. I did more than 60 ad films alongside the likes of Shahrukh Khan and Akshay Kumar also. I did Special appearances in some films like “E”, “Bombay to Goa” and “Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal”. Later on I got a chance to work with Simbhu in a Tamil film “Silambattam” in 2008 and I won the ITFA Best New Actress Award in Singapore for my performance in “Silambattam”. After that I took a long gap like of nearly 2 years, then I re-entered with a Tamil film “Thambikku Indha Ooru” and Now I coming up in Telugu with “Kalyanram Kathi”.

Myfirstshow : How you get a chance to act in “Kalyanram Kathi”?

Sana Khan : “Silambattam” director saw my ad film and he gave me the chance for his film, like wise “Kalyanram Katti” director Malli and Kalyanram has seen my ad film and they offered me to act in this film.

Actually, earlier I got many offers in Telugu, but I didn’t accept those offers because I really want to come with bang. I wanted to be noted through my first film itself, I wanted to be recognized an actor and I want receive applauses from Telugu audiences through my debut film only because I believe that launching is very important and first impression is the best impression.  That’s why I waited for the right script and I think “Kalyanram Kathi” will be definitely that kind of film. After listening to the script, I immediately accepted to work for it. Really I feel good to work for a good film.   

Myfirstshow : What do you feel the difference between Bollywood, Kollywood and Tollywood?   

Sana Khan : I think basically overall South (Tollywood and Kollywood) are alike because when compare with Bollywood the shooting timings, working, etc and every thing is different. 

Coming to Tollywood and Kollywood I felt only one difference that is Language, I face a bit problem with the language because I did a couple of films  in Tamil, so I can understand Tamil but, this is the first film in Telugu, during my shooting time I felt a problem with the language. But, definitely I will learn Telugu.   

Myfirstshow : How you feel working with NTR Arts “Kalyanram Kathi”?

Sana Khan : You all know that “Kalyanram Kathi” is going to release on tomorrow, I am crossing my fingers and I am hoping that this film will do well. I feel really happy to do my debut film in Telugu with such a well established production house NTR Arts. It’s really happy and I feel that I am lucky to launch through this banner for a rocking script.

Myfirstshow : Could you tell us about your role in “Kalyanram Kathi”?

Sana Khan : My role in “Kalyanram Kathi” is normal college going girl, I played a character as Anjali, Its nothing like intellectual or any thing else, it’s just a normal girl who faces all kind of emotions. Audience can feel the real because they can feel that each every character is close to there real life. It’s really a rocking script with unexpected twists.

Myfirstshow : Tell us about your co-star “Kalyan Ram”?

Sana Khan : I am very lucky to act with such an established actor Kalyanram Ram in my first film itself (I mean in Telugu), he is very friendly, great actor, helpful and down to earth. Because, we all known that he is from strong back ground, its no need come and wish a debut actor but, he didn’t follow any such kind of attitude, in the shooting times he wishes all the artists and he treats equally. He is very modest.

Myfirstshow : You also acted in King Narjuna’s “Gaganam” cloud tell about that film?

Sana Khan : As you all known that “Gaganam” is different kind of story and I played as one of the passenger character in that film. It’s also a special appearance, but it has small twist which must be revealed in theatres. It’s really nice working with Nagarjuna under Dil Raju’s production. 

Myfirstshow : Do you want to continue in south or else any ideas to go back for Bollywood?

Sana Khan : See, I didn’t have any such kind of differences like Bollywood, Tollywood, Kollywood,etc.. Who ever call me and who ever want to me to work for their films I will definitely do. If the script is good, I love to work it might be in Mumbai, Chennai or Hyderabad. I am very comfortable to work anywhere. Major consideration is only one thing that I want to be a part of good and right film.

Myfirstshow : What are your future plans?

Sana Khan : As I told you that I am eagerly waiting for “Kalyanram Kathi” release and currently I am doing two films in Kollywood titled as “Aayiram Vilakku”, “Saandhupottu” and one film in Sandalwood (Kannada) titled as “Kool” which are under shooting. I listened to some of the scripts in Telugu, but they are not finalized yet, after finalizing let you know.
