Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Prestigious 100th film, Gautamiputra Satakarni is all set for a grand release tomorrow. Already the movie’s Pre-Release Business is complete to the tune of the highest ever in the actor’s career and the makers are sitting comfortably with a Table Profit. The film will clash with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Prestigious 150th film, Khaidi No 150 which will also release for Sankranthi (on January 11th). Both the films are not keen on letting go the huge holidays advantage Sankranthi season brings and so the clash became imminent. Sharwanand’s Shatamanam Bhavathi is also in the fray this Sankranthi.
Both the Telugu governments have extended Entertainment Tax Exemption as the movie is promoting Telugu history. But then a lawyer had filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) Petition in Hyderabad High Court. The lawyer alleged that the exemption was granted just because Balayya is a relative of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
The high court refused to take the petition as house motion petition and asked the petitioner to approach the regular bench in the eve of holidays to the court. The high court also opined that in case, rules are not taken into consideration while granting the exemption, the producer will still have to pay back the amount. But then, Nandamuri fans argue that Telangana government also extended Tax Exemption for the movie and that itself proves there is no partiality involved and it is a genuine case.
Y. Rajiv Reddy and Jagarlamudi Sai Babu are producing the film on First Frame Entertainment Pvt Ltd Banner and they made the film on a lavish budget without any compromise. Krish roped in Chirantan Bhatt to score music for the film. He previously composed music for Krish’s Kanche and Bollywood venture, Gabbar is Back. Timeless Beauty Shriya Saran is playing the female lead in this film and this is her second time with Balakrishna after Chenna Keshava Reddy several years ago. Bollywood actor, Kabir Bedi, and veteran actress Hema Malini will be seen in important roles in this prestigious film.
