Shocking: Baahubali 2 Release to Get Bandh Affect!

The hurdles of India’s most awaited film of the year “Baahubali 2- The Conculsion”, Kannada release are increasing day by day. It is known that earlier Pro- Kannada activities warned to stall the release of film in Karnataka due to the comments made by Baahubali actor Satyaraj, nine years ago on Cauvery Water dispute.

They warn to stop release of the film unless actor Satyaraj tendered unconditional apology for his anti-Kannadiga remarks. Recently director Rajamouli and producer Shobhu also responded to their warning saying it as an unfair and halting the film release will affect the producer not the actor.

But now it seems that Pro- Kannada activities are targeting the guns to stop film release as much as they can, Kannada Okoota, an organisation of Kannada bodies has announced Bengaluru Bandh on Baahubali 2 release date (April 28th), to protest the remarks of Sathyaraj, who plays the key character of Katappa in the much anticipated film.

A leading Kannada daily news channel reported that Kannada Okoota organisation head Nagaraj said, “The remarks made by Sathyaraj against Kannadigas during the Cauvery row (a few years ago) had crossed limits of decency. We will not allow the film to be released under any circumstances. We are planning to halt the release in each and every district of Karnataka”.

He also added, “There is no scope for the release unless and until Sathyaraj tenders an unconditional apology, the exhibitors will have to bear the consequences if they venture to screen the film. The organisations were not against the film as such, but opposed to Sathyaraj’s remarks”

Kannada litterateurs are also providing support to Kannada activists who would stage a protest march on April 28th in Bengaluru.

Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce also supporting Pro-Kannada activists where film chamber president Sa Ra Govindu who is also an Kannada activist said, “Sathyaraj had hurt the self-respect of Kannadigas and there was no going back on stalling the release of the film till he apologised for making provocative anti-Kannadiga remarks. The release would not be allowed to take place anywhere in Karnataka, as it involved self-respect of Kannadigas.”

Sources say that producers and the actor are trying best to make release in Karanataka. Currently “Baahubali” team are in Kochi, Kerala in part of promotional activities next they will move Benguluru, Karnataka.
