After acquiring the huge success with Balakrishna’s 100th film “Gauthami Putra Satakarni”, director Krish started his next his multi-lingual film “Manikarnika” biopic of Rani Jhansi Lakshmi Bhai in grand scale.
It is known that the film was launched in huge scale at Varanasi, the birthplace of Rani Jhansi Lakshmi Bhai, and the first look poster which was released during the time of launch was critically acclaimed by critics. Currently, the shooting is progressing at a brisk pace.
Latest news is that the film has gone into legal troubles, Bollywood director Ketan Mehta has sent a legal notice to Kangana Ranaut alleging that the actor connived with producer Kamal Jain and hijacked his “Rani of Jhansi – The Warrior Queen” project and making the film “Manikarnika”.
After sending the legal notice to stop “Manikarnika” filmmaker Ketan Mehta interacted with media and shares the actual things happened in past two years.
Ketan Mehta said, “This is regarding my project called Rani of Jhansi: The Warrior Queen and her (Kangana’s) attempt and the producer Kamal Jain at hijacking the project. Since 2015, I was in contact with Kangana for the project. I was sharing research material and several drafts of the script with Kangana and she was actively participating,”
“The legal notice says how we have worked on the project for two years and how all of a sudden everything happened. We have asked for the film (Manikarnika) to stop as we plan to go ahead with our project (Ketan’s film)” Ketan Mehta says.
He added that “I came to known through newspapers that Kangana Ranaut in association with producer Kamal Jain is making Manikarnika as Story of Jhansi and I want to approach legally. Now, my lawyer will take care of it”.
During the time of Manikarnika launch it was announced that Baahubali writer Vijyaendra Prasad is penning the story, dialogues, and script for this film, but now Ketan Mehta alleging that Kangana has stolen his story. What would be the actual truth?
Kangana who is busy with the shooting of the film has received legal notices on Today and she didn’t respond yet.
We need to wait and see, director Krish who has taken “Manikarnika” as a prestigious project to make the film huge will react on this legal issue or not.
