Movie: Uu Kodatara Ulikki Padatara
Director: Sekhar Raja
Banner: Manchu Entertainment
Manchu Manoj who is eying a decent hit in tollywood said he came up with a unique storyline and script, on which he had been working for couple of years. He managed a coup of sorts impressing upon Natasimha Balakrishna to do a special role in the film. Manchu Lakshmi producer for the film took utmost care to give grandeur look for the film bringing rich elements. Deeksha Seth who is the heroine hope that her dreams of making it big will be fulfilled with the film. Let us see whether movie lovers accept 'U Kodatara Ulikipadatara', giving the film makers and director Sekhar Raja's debut a thumbs up.
Manoj whose name is not revealed in the film, enters Gandharva Mahal as a tenant paying Rayudu(Prabhu) the owner advance when other tenants take him for a ride. However using his skills he drive all of them out but when Rayudu plans to get his elder daughter Vishali(Madhumita) married parting away Gandharva Mahal as dowry, then he reveals his true intentions of saving the Mahal. Why Manoj tries to save Gandharva Mahal, what is his connection with the Mahal, why beggar (Manchu Lakshmi) wanders outside the mahal, why Narasimha Naidu (Balakrishna) soul is haunting the mahal and unraveling of the dark secret of Gandharva Mahal has to be enjoyed on the silver screen.
Manoj built his psyche but he did not get much chance to show his heroism in the film. His role was a bit subdued. He made it up showing his well toned body in the intro song though it was out of sync with the story. Similar was the seond song. Though he put up reasonably matured performance compared to his earlier performances bringing in variety to his dialogues imitating his father Mohan Babu, he has to improve his expressions. He performed well in stunts and was ok in dances. Deeksha Seth's role is a complete waste but tried to attract viewers with her skin show. Sai Kumar as Bujji Naidu did well but his wig proved to be the minus point. Star attraction of the film is Natasimha Balakrishna who looked royal as usual and did full justice to the role. Sonu Sood as Phanindra Bhupati did well in the role that has shades of his role in 'Arundhati'. Manchu Lakshmi stunned and spellbound all as Amruthavalli. Comedy track on Dharmavarapu did not get required response from viewers.Others like Rishi, Bhanuchander, Prabhu, Ajay, Panchi Bora, Nilalgal Ravi, Suhasini, Raghu Babu, Abhinaya Sri did their roles as required.
The film which is touted to be thriller has many loop holes in the script. Director Sekhar Raja showed his inexperience in dealing with the plot. The film lacks suspense elements and Bobo Sashi's music along with background score disappointed movie lovers.Natasimha Balakrishna's fans will surely be disappointed as there are no powerful dialogues. If the film makers included few of them, movie lovers would have thronged the film.
Manchu Lakshmi's production values are of very high standards. Editing could have been better in the first half. Cinematography is the saving grace, as it beautified the entire film. Art direction is amazing and stunts scored over all other departments.Dialogues in the film sparked well sometimes but are off color otherwise.
Average film with some sparks from Balakrishna and Manchu Lakshmi.
