Mass Maharaja Raviteja's 'Nippu' was released with huge expectations world wide last week but trade reports indicate that it left only tears in the eyes of overseas Exhibitors. Everyone waited eagerly when the three flop friends Raviteja, director Guna Sekhar and YVS.Chowdhary teamed together to set silverscreens on fire with 'Nippu'. Most of the interest fizzled out among movie lovers as the film makers kept on postponing the release date citing some or the other flimsy reason.
Buzz is a overseas distributor bought the rights for around 61 lacs and couldn't even make out 10 lacs. If one deducts all the costs of prints shipping, rents, print cost etc, he will be in huge minus. Similar was the case when a distributor bought the rights of Mass Raja's earlier film 'Veera'. It was bought at that time for 40lacs and exhibitor was left ruing his burnt fingers.
Many analysts feel that Raviteja is fast losing his appeal as a minimum guaranee hero, with monotonous and stereotyped roles and routine storyline. Fans feel he became Mass Maharaj for his unique mannerisms but as he is overdoing them, movie lovers are getting bored. Unless until Ravi Teja tries something new and creative, results will not be any different in his future venture however crazy the combination may be.
