King Nagarjuna’s latest devotional venture, Om Namo Venkateshaya recently had its audio launch event and the movie is being planned for February 9th release. On the other side, there is a sudden uproar against the film title. Banjara Seva Sangham activists, in West Godavari district are alleging that the director chose god’s name as the title, fearing that people may not watch the film if the title is named after the tribal saint. They say the movie is about Tribal saint Hathi Ram Baba and the movie should be named after him just like Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu. They say the movie title should be changed in respect to the Tribal saint. It has to be seen if the team responds on the issue.
The movie is getting record offers from the trade even though it is a devotional film given Nagarjuna is in superb form with back to back hits like Manam, Oopiri and Soggade Chinni Nayana. Usually, February is considered as a dull season for film business but the makers are not worried as they are very confident of the product in hand.
Expectations and hype on the film are huge as Nagarjuna and Raghavendra Rao previously delivered devotional classics like Annamayya, Shirdi Sai and Sri Ramadasu. A Mahesh Reddy who earlier produced Nagarjuna’s Shirdi Sai is producing this film under his AMR Sai Krupa Entertainments banner. Keeravani is the music composer for this devotional extravaganza. MM Keeravani’s music albums are the major contributors to the success of previous three devotional ventures in Nagarjuna and Raghavendra Rao combination and so there are good expectations on Keeravani’s work for this movie as well.
On the other side, Nagarjuna had started preparation for his next project, Raju Gari Gadhi-2 and the regular shooting of the film began recently. This Nagarjuna’s first tryst with Horror Comedy Genre. He will shoot continuously for the film until completion but will take a little break for Om Namo Venkateshaya promotions.
