“Boys” into Bollywood

After Robot’s phenomenal success in Bollywood, director Shankar is hot property there. While most of his earlier flicks like Indian were either dubbed or remade in Hindi, some films like “Boys” are left out due its failure in Tamil. Now, to cash in on the present situation, A.M Ratnam, the producer of “Boys”, is making an attempt to take the film to Bollywood. According to sources, apart from the Shankar factor, the producer has other solid reasons to dub it in Hindi, like the fact that the lead pair of Siddharth and Genelia are already popular faces in Hindi. Even though the film was a damp squib, the songs by Academy-award winner A.R.Rahman were huge hits. And yet another advantage is that Bollywood veteran Abbas Tyrewala has agreed to take care of its lyrics and dialogues. Ratnam has also planned to give a glossy package and aggressive promotions to the film and make it a hit in Hindi.
