Ramayanam MOU with UP Government

Well-known film producers Allu Aravind, Namit Malhotra and Madhu Mantena have announced the making of the epic Ramayana on a huge scale — a three part venture in 3D format, with a budget of a Sensational 500 crore. The announcement came the last year but there is no buzz about the project since then. But now, we are told that the makers have entered into an MOU with Uttar Government’s Cinema Arm – Film Bandhu for the film production in the state. The state government will be extending a slew of incentives for shooting the film in the state as it will lead to Tourism development later on. Geetha Arts registered the title ‘Sampoorna Ramayanam’ long back with Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce for the Telugu Version of the movie.

Namit Malhotra of Prime Focus, which has handled the stereo conversion and visual effects of Hollywood flicks like Transformers, X-Men: Apocalypse and The Martian will be handling the VFX of this project. Back then, rumors are rife that Mega Power Star Ram Charan will be seen as Lord Rama in the film but the makers are tight-lipped about it so far. Film lovers are eagerly waiting for the announcement of the director and other casts of the film and the timing of the project going on floors.
