Nation’s top celebrities like Cricket God Sachin Tendulkar, Heavenly Angel Aishwayra Rai and others graced NDTV Coca Cola Support My School Telethon and helped the event organisers raise the fund pledges worth Rs 13.6 crore towards the revitalisation of 272 schools across India via a telethon.
The 12 hrs telethon began at 9 am and finished by 9 pm and it was streamed live on Tendulkar’s facebook pace along with the video being shared on you tube. This is the second edition of the program and it was held at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. The event was flagged off by Coca-Cola India & South West Asia president and CEO Atul Singh, NDTV India CEO Vikram Chandra, campaign ambassador Sachin Tendulkar and Aishwarya.
Aish who was clad in Abu-Sandeep salwar suit with all black traditional ensemble was lavishly embroidered with black threads, and sporting a silver wrist watch and a thin gold bangle said "As a mother, I understand the urge to provide your child with the best opportunities available to help them grow and prosper. Every child deserves these opportunities, every girl needs to know that she herself is a beacon of hope and has the power to influence her future,".
Coca Cola Foundation itself committed Rs 2.5 crs for the program. Ayushmann Khurrana and Cyrus Broacha and last year contributors Ajay Devn and Kajol too pledged their support. Kailash Kher, Yuvraj Singh, Shashi Tharoor and Priya Dutt graced the occasion.
