Tollywood’s 2012 Picture on Silver Screen

Tollywood is preparing for a grand farewell for the year 2012 and is gearing up to continue with same vigour next year 2013 with success strikes during Sankranthi. A peek at what the year offered unlocks the happy mood of Tollywood film makers. It has been a good year this time not only for many star heroes but even to those who never tasted any success. Even young and talented new comers tasted success while dubbing films for the first time received shock in their defeats.

Super Hits-Averages-Flops of 2012

Top heroes, aspiring young heroes and film makers came forward to entertain movie lovers with their creativity on silver screen. While some of them succeeded in their attempts others failed in their attempts. Some top stars films bombed at the box office much to the shock of analysts and movie lovers alike while some unexpected winners emerged in Tollywood.

The year has been particularly mega hit for mega heroes. While Ram Charan overcame his Orange flop by scoring a hit with ‘Racha’ in Sampath Nandi direction, even Pawan Kalyan came out of his successive flops to rewrite Tollywood records with ‘Gabbar Singh’. Allu Arjun joined them turning ‘Julaayi’ making three in a row for Mega family heroes. However Pawan’s ‘Camera Man Gangatho Rambabu’ put brakes on their march thanks to telangana agitation.

Tollywood top director Rajamouli stunned all showing the power of the industry and his creative genius scoring a sensational hit in form of ‘Eega’ without any star value. Even Mahesh who scored a hit last year with ‘Dookudu’, started the year with another sensation film ‘Business Man’.

While Young hero Aadi continued his success journey with ‘Lovely’, flop heroes Manchu Vishnu and Nithin came out of their flop streaks scoring hits with ‘Ishq’ and ‘Denikaina Ready’. Small film makers also had field day with Maruthi turning most sought after director with ‘Eerojullo’ and ‘Bus Stop’. Sunil also scored success with ‘Poolarangadu’ while lady director Jaya showed her power with ‘Lovely’.

Small films like ‘Avunu, Love Failure, Oka Romantic Crime Kadha’ did well at box -office. However Venkatesh and Nagarjuna’s ‘Bodyguard, Damarukam, Shiridi Sai’ turned out to be an average grossers.

Socio fantasies did not do well with ‘Damarukam, Yamaho Yama and Devaraya’ not doing that well, while Raviteja who is the most bankable star surprisingly tasted string of flops putting a question mark over his career. Balakrishna’s ‘Adhinayakudu and Srimannarayana’ flopped and the star is showing more interest in politics. Even the industry is saved from Dubbing films as many high profile ventures like ‘Snehitulu, Brothers, Siva Tandavam’ flopped with only ‘Tupaki’ doing some business.

December month also have not fetched success to the Tollywood as Raviteja’s ‘Saarocharu’,Allari Naresh’s ‘Yamudiki Mogudu’,Omkar’s ‘Genius’,Sharwanand’s ‘Ko Ante Koti’ were not survived at the Box-office.
