Hyderabad: Natural Star Nani is considered to be a safe bet as his movies definitely touch the break-even mark. It also turns out to be a safe venture for the makers and distributors. But since the last few films, Nani also has been stumbling and has delivered flops like Krishnarjuna Yuddham and the most recently Gang Leader.
We have also noticed a strange pattern that whenever an actress who is a newcomer or relatively new has cast opposite Nani, her career just doesn’t take off in Tollywood. There are many examples right from Vaani Kapoor(Ahaa Kalyanam), Malavika Nair(Yevade Subramanyam), Rukshar Dhillon(Krishnarjuna Yuddham) to the latest Priyanka Arul Mohan in Gang leader.
Before the release of Nani’s Gang Leader, many Telugu filmmakers were queuing up to sign Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead in their projects. But after the release, they dropped the idea to cast her as the film turned out to be a damp squib. It is unfortunate that in this cruel film industry, an actor’s career gets decided only with the box office fate of their last movie. Priyanka Arul Mohan is a talented actress with a bubbly face. But now no one is discussing Priyanka Arul Mohan after it performed poorly at the box office. The talk in the industry is that Nani’s Gang Leader has ruined her career. She should have signed some films before the release to be on the safe side. But Alas!
Meanwhile, Nani is busy shooting with Mohan Krishna Indragranti for his next project, V with Aditi Rao Hydari, Nivetha Thomas, and Sudheer Babu in lead roles. Nani’s character will have negative dark shades.
