Akkineni Nageswara Rao (20 September 1924 – 22 January 2014), widely known as ANR, is an Indian film actor and producer, known for his excellent work in Telugu cinema. He gave many iconic movies in his 75 years career. He is also known for his path-breaking work in biopics. Tenali Ramakrishna was one of the biopics he worked which received All India Certificate of Merit for the best feature film.

ANR is also known for his performances in romantic dramas like Laila Majnu, Devadasu, Anarkali and many more. He received seven state Nandi Awards, five Filmfare Awards, and the Dada Saheb Phalke Award. He received the highest Indian awards in the field of cinema. He was awarded the second highest civilian award Padma Vibhushan for his contribution to the film industry.

His last film was with his family titled Manam. He died while the production phase of this movie. It was his last contribution to the film industry which was a Blockbuster Hit. As he always said he wanted to contribute to the film industry until his death, he did so.

We can never forget his contribution to the Telugu cinema. He was the ultimate Majnu for the Telugu film Industry.
