Movie : Athade Srimannarayana

Rating: 2.5/5

Director : Sachin Ravi

Behind the Scenes:

Kannada Film, KGF had emerged as a Universal Hit and opened doors for Kannada Cinema in other languages. Now, Another film, Avane Srimannarayana is releasing in multiple languages. The movie released in Telugu as Athade Srimannarayana today as New Year Special. Let us see how the movie is received by the audience.

A hidden treasure belonging to a feudal lord is lost and a tribe called Adheeras is in search of it. After they try for fifteen years, a cop Srimannarayana (Rakshit Shetty) is after it. Who is this Srimanarayana? What does he have to do with the treasure? What happens in his pursuit of finding the treasure forms the rest of the story.

Rakshit Shetty plays the role of a funny cop who is after the treasure. He is lively and so is his body language. Shanvi Srivastava gets a meaty role and performed well. Achyuth Kumar plays the hero’s sidekick and is okay. Balaji Manohar and Pramod Shetty also performed well.

Technical Performances:

Director Sachin picked up a tested story of a treasure hunt and tried to treat it differently. However, the major problem with him is taking too much time to get into the story. Moreover, he stuffed the film with several boring scenes which make the film a tedious watch. The songs composed by Ajaneesh Loknath and Charan Raj are average but the background score is very good. The Telugu dubbing is very good and the makers tried to give the native touch with Telugu names. The camera work is excellent and so are the production design, set work and art direction.

Finally, Athade Srimannarayana has got an interesting concept and excellent production values, but the director failed to cross the line as he let it down with slow pace, complex story, and excruciatingly long run-time. It will appeal to the people who will enjoy the segment of a thought-provoking thriller but may not appeal to the common audience.
