Baahubali-2 Brings Huge Losses in China

SS Rajamouli’s Magnum Opus film, Baahubali – The Conclusion which has opened to an below average first weekend total has tanked big time in the weekdays and is running to the close as a flop. This can be termed as a disappointing performance since the movie had released in around 7000 screens there and so the losses are very huge. The only solace is that it has fared better than the first part which was a washout in China. The movie’s run will end by this Friday since Hollywood film, Avengers – Infinity Wars is releasing the Friday.
The Word of Mouth and Reviews are not that great. People say that the Chinese are not that impressed with the visual extravaganza that Rajamouli movie offered. China has the history of making even grandeur and visually rich movies. Also, films with the stories of Kings and wars are a routine affair to them. The Chinese market has increased by leaps and bounds in the last one year or so. We have seen films like Dangal, Secret Superstar, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan making big money there.  With this poor performance, Baahubali-2 also lost its chance to beat the record of Dangal’s lifetime collections of 1950 Crore. Baahubali-2 now stands at the lifetime gross of Rs 1600 Crores before the China release. With less than 10 Million USA Dollars Gross in China, the position does not change.  Baahubali-2 has recently made Telugu Cinema proud by winning three at the 65th National Awards
