Ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam is working on a period movie named ‘Ponniyan Selvan.’ The film features Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Aishwarya Rajesh, Mohan Babu, and Jayam Ravi. The film was supposed to get wrapped by this time, but the sudden outbreak of the coronavirus has spoiled their plans.
Already makers wrapped up a major portion in Thailand early this year. Now, as per our sources, the director is planning to resume shoot from September in Pune. However, getting permission to shoot in Pune is not an easy task. As Maharashtra and Tamilnadu are the worst-hit states in India as far as coronavirus is concerned, Mani Ratnam may have to face hurdles to grab the permission.
The film is to be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages next year. AR Rahman is scoring the music.
