Director AR Murugadoss and Vijay have joined hands for the third time after ‘Thupakki’ and ‘Katthi’. The film has been titled as Sarkar and the first look poster which was released a few days back has received objections from tobacco control activists. Although makers removed the posters on high court’s order now a fresh case has been filed on Vijay, AR Murugadoss, and the producer too.
As per our sources, a case has been filed demanding 10 crores each for a violation of Section 5 of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) and influencing youth with the smoking poster. As per the petitioner, the punishment money will go to the Cancer Institute, Chennai. The film stars Keerthy Suresh alongside Vijay and has music by A.R. Rahman.
