Chaitu recommends Samantha for Mahanati

Reports are emerging that Samantha has signed her first film post ‘Janatha Garage’ and the announcement of her relationship with Naga Chaitanya. Buzz is that she will be seen in the biopic on Mahanati Savitri being mooted by Nani’s ‘Yevade Subrahmanyam’ fame Nag Ashwin. From the day the movie is announced, there are speculations all over about who will be the lead cast in the film. We have seen some Bollywood names doing rounds but the director turned them down.

While some said the offers of Samantha are on a decline due to her relationship with Naga Chaitanya. He may have got her the first Telugu offer post the relationship announcement. Going into the details, Legends NTR and ANR are very important in the life of Savitri. As a Top heroine back then, she appeared in several of their blockbuster films. The makers are planning to rope in Junior NTR and Naga Chaitanya for those roles. In such scenario, the romance between Naga Chaitanya and Samantha will work big time, the makers have felt and so they have chosen Samantha over Nithya Menon.

The Pre-production works of the film are nearing completion and the regular shooting of the film will begin very soon. Nag Ashwin is said to have conducted some extensive research on her life. He even met several artistes who worked with the actrss during her prime and some of her friends who are at her side when she left this mortal World. Savitri will be a magnum opus period film set in the golden era and will have huge sets erected for that.

Nag Ashwin already promised that the life story of the actress was so intriguing that he felt it deserved to be told to this generation of audience. Savitri is the top heroine in those days. She is the first choice heroine for Top stars those days and is also the highest paid. But she struggled in extreme poverty in her last days. The director promised to be as honest as possible his attempt to recreate it in Cinema. This is one film we can not wait any longer wait to see it on the big screen.
