Movie: Chal Mohan Ranga
Direction: Krishna Chaitanya
Behind the Screens:
Young Hero Nithin is joining hands with his demigod Pawan Kalyan (as a Presenter) and his A..Aa director Trivikram Srinivas (As a Writer and Presenter) for Chal Mohan Ranga in the director of Krishna Chaitanya. Let us see how the movie releasing today has fared with the audience.
Mohan Ranga (Nithin) falls in love with Megha (Megha Akash) in his childhood but she flies to America. He longs to go there to meet Megha. Finally, he gets USA visa and goes there. He happens to see Megha but does not know she is actually his childhood lover. The rest of the story is all about how love blossoms between them and the events that follow later.
Nithin puts up an impressive performance as Ranga. In the first half, he evokes some laughs in his tryst for America Visa. He almost shouldered the movie in a role which is in every scene of the film. Megha Akash looks good and also acted well. The chemistry between them is nice. Rao Ramesh, Naresh, Madhunandan, Narra Srinivas have got crucial roles and they are good. Lizzy is back after a long time and is okay.
Trivikram’s mark is clearly visible in the script but the story selected has no novelty. The director Krishna Chaitanya does a decent job with the direction and his dialogues are good. Trivikram’s mark is even felt in some dialogues as well. Second half stuffed with more comedy and a novel twist to the story would have done wonders.
Thaman came up with good music. The Pedda Puli song will appeal to the masses and the rest all are melodies. Megha song is shot well with beautiful flavors. The locations of USA and Ooty are beautifully shot. Camera work is top notch. There is only one fight forcibly inserted for the masses. Editing should have been better in the second half. Production Values are good.
Trivikram has given the script for the film. The story has nothing new but the emphasis is more on the comedy. Hero characterization and his struggle for USA Visa evoke some laughs. There is no much story in the first half but some scenes here and there worked. The second half has highs and lows but is okay as a whole. The reasons behind the breakup should have been dealt well. The long Pre-climax episode is the highlight of the second half and the climax sequence is again okay. All in all, Chal Mohan Ranga is a usual love story which emphasizes more on comedy. The audience will enjoy it as long as there are no expectations.
Chal Mohan Ranga – Decent Joyride.
