After playing the unique role of Kancha Cheena in Agneepath, Sanjay Dutt might be taking up another retro challenge. He might be seen in the role of Sher Khan, immortalised by Pran in Zanjeer. The remake of the super-hit will also see the B’wood debut of T’town star Ram Charan Tej and film buffs are already looking forward to see the two together on screen.“Sanjay Dutt has shown keen interest to do the role and dates are being worked out but nothing is confirmed yet,” says a source. The Rs 70crores joint production of Reliance and Prakash Mehra’s sons will roll from April 13, after the release of Rachcha. Sources say that the T-town star might add some muscle power to his lean frame and even sport stubble for the role. “Director Apoorva Lakhia hasn’t demanded a distinctive look but Charan is trying to look different from his other Telugu films,” adds the source. Though Deepika Padukone is still on board, a case filed against her by B-town producer Ramesh Taurani could play spoilsport. However, the producers are also looking at Kajal Agarwal for the female lead. “We’ll let you know soon,” says the source. With the success of Agneepath, Charan’s hoping that this remake too will strike gold. Interestingly, even his father Chiranjeevi debuted in Hindi films playing a cop. Now, that’s what we call a coincidence.
