Chennai International film festival starts

Tamil Nadu Minister for information Rajendra Balaji has assured the Kollywood film Industry that the state Government is planning to construct a separate Auditorium for holding film festivals in Chennai for which Chief Minister Jayalalitha has also agreed and given directions to the officials to go ahead with the project. Inaugurating the 10th Chennai International film festival at Woodland Theater in Chennai minister Rajendra Balaji said the state government is positively considering the proposal of the film industry and very soon Auditorium will be constructed. Earlier director Ameer found fault with the organisers for not singing national anthem before starting the function however South Indian actors, actresses’ association president Sharath kumar has apologised and said such mistakes will not happen again.  Music Maestro AR Rahman’s son Ameen Rahman enthralled the audiences with his piano performances. On completion of 100 years of Indian cinema movies, classical like ‘Megasandhesham, Sangeethabaritha’ were screened however it was unfortunate that Telugu movies were not screened. During the festival 160 movies from 57 countries are screened.
