Behind the Screens

Sundeep Kishan has managed to make a decent impression on the audience but his career is always patchy as one hit is followed by multiple flops. After a disaster like Nakshatram, he pinned all his hopes on C/O Surya to steady the ship. Let us see how the movie releasing today fares with the audience.

Storyline:

Surya (Sundeep) and Mahesh (Vikranth) are close friends. While Mahesh is an angry young man and he fights for the issues of others, Surya always wants to lead a peaceful life but if someone creates any problem for his friend, he would go to any extent. A false police complaint is lodged against Mahesh for attacking a real estate office with his friends and Surya tries to help Mahesh through a police officer but that leads them to a bigger plan by a gang (lead by Harish Utthaman).

Star Shine:

Sundeep Kishan is seen in an yet another energetic role and he is completely at ease before the camera. Vikranth is decent in an angry-young-man role. Mehreen has limited space and she looks out of shape in the film. Her lip-sync is terrible. Satya’s comedy works in parts. Harish Utthaman is seen as the baddie. His characterization is excellent and he is one of the assets of the film.

Analysis:

The film’s story moves leisurely in the first half with friendship, romance and the introduction of the baddie as the director Suseenthiran takes a good time to introduce the characters and establish the conflict towards the interval. That comes as a drawback for the film. Comedy takes center stage in the most of the first half. The story picks pace in the second half with enough twists and turns. After revealing the suspense, the director fails to live up to the expectations created and narrated some illogical scenes. The movie at max is a one time watch. It could have been easily made better if the director takes enough care on the screenplay.

Technical:

Suseenthiran made a decent product with comedy, thrill, and family touch to the story. Imman’s songs are not up to the mark while the background score, especially to the villain, stands out. Lakshman did an excellent job with the cinematography. The camera work is particularly impressive in the climax fight. Editing is okay while the production values are appropriate.
