Director: Hari Prasad Jakka
Behind the Screens
Director Sukumar who delivered a blockbuster with his debut Production venture, Kumari 21F is introducing his brother’s son, Ashok with his second Production venture, Darshakudu.Let us see how the movie, Darshakudu which released today fares with the audience.
Mahesh (Ashok) is a fun loving youth who dreams day and night to become a film director. His ambition is to make a new age love story. He somehow gets a chance to direct a film and begins its shoot. At the same time, he falls in love with a costume designer called Namratha (Eesha Rebba ). But then, his love story creates a problem for his love story. The rest of the story is all about how his love story creates troubles to his film and how he will finish the film in time.
The newcomer, Ashok struggled to be comfortable in the character and has to improve a lot. Eesha Rebba looks beautiful and delivers decent performance. Upcoming Comedian Sudharshan Reddy is okay while Priyadarshi of Pellichoopulu fame is good in a little character.
The first half of the film is okay with some passable scenes here and there. Those scenes between the lead pair are good. While the title is Darshakudu, the story is mostly about the love story between the director and a costume designer, but then the title gives a feel it is about filmmaking and the struggle of a filmmaker. The second half is even disappointing with nothing exciting. The last 20 minutes or so have some good emotions but does not help the film.
Director Hari Prasad Jakka had chosen a good concept of making a love story based on a film director and costume designer but did not work enough on the script. The director’s work in the film is totally amateurish. The camera work is below par and the lighting is even disappointing. The music is okay while the theme of the film is impressive. Production Values are average. Editing is okay.
