Dasari Narayana Rao Garu Is No More

Veteran Filmmaker and Senior Politician Dasari Narayana Rao breathed his last a little while ago. Dasari who was admitted to KIMS Hospital, Hyderabad on January 31st after he suffered from lung infection is finally discharged on March-end. Dasari, however, was staying indoors and is yet to resume the normal activity when this tragedy happened.

Dasari Narayana Rao is a stalwart of Telugu film industry has directed more than 150 films and starred in Telugu, proudcedTamil and Kannada films. Dasari Narayana Rao also produced 53 films. He is popular for directing top stars and delivers blockbusters.  The Veteran filmmaker turned many aspiring heroes into superstars and he is credited to introduce top many actors.

Dasari Narayana Rao who joined politics became Union Minister of State for Coal but his tenure was marred with scams. His name figured as accused in illegal allocations of Coal Blocks under the regime of Manmohan Singh. Dasari, however, claimed innocence that he acted under the collective leadership of the then PM Manmohan Singh who holds the Coal Portfolio.

Dasari Narayana Rao some time back hogged the limelight when he announced that he will be producing Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s film. Expectations increased on the project but till now the project did not take off. Dasari Narayana Rao recently registered a title ‘Amma’, and rumours spread that he is directing a biopic on former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalitha who passed away last year leaving everyone tear struck. Dasari has remained mostly silent about politics since UPA government losing power in 2014. But then, he is an active voice in the Kapu Reservations Stir being led by Mudragada Padmanabham.
