iSmart Shankar is a blockbuster and has turned out to be a lottery for its distributors and exhibitors. But to be honest, before the release no one was confident about its success owing to the poor form of director Puri Jagannadh and hero Ram.
One such person is Dil Raju, who wanted to buy the rights of iSmart Shankar but was asking to buy the rights for a very cheap price as he had lost money in Puri’s last film Mehbooba. But Puri and Charmme were against it. Hurt by their decision, Dil Raju decided not to take the distribution rights of the film.
This turned out to be a blunder by Raju as the film earned 16.73 Crore share in AP and Telangana in 3 days i.e 7.36 Crore share in Nizam alone, the film has given a rude shock to trade experts and noted distributors. Apparently, Dil Raju is now regretting his decision to not take the distribution rights of iSmart Shankar.
