Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi Review

Movie: Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi

Rating: 2.75/5.0

Director: Tharun Bhascker

Behind the Screens:

Young Director Tharun Bhascker bagged a blockbuster with his first film, Pellichoopulu. There is a lot of curiosity to see if he will keep up the success with his second film, Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi as well. Let us see if this Road Comedy will strike a chord with the audience or not.

Vivek (Vishwaksen Naidu), Karthik (Sushanth Reddy), Kaushik (Abhinav Gomatam), Upendra (Venkatesh Kakamanu) are four friends who plan to make a short film to showcase their talent to the World. Vivek suffers from uncontrollable anger and also has a love failure. Karthik brings all of them to a Pub for a Bachelors Party. Fully Drunk they to Goa, what happens there forms the rest of the story.

Star Shine:

All the four guys are apt for their roles in the movie and the director drew natural performances from all of them. Especially, Abhinav Gomatam may be a new find comedian to the industry. His drunk scene with Vishwakshen Naidu is hilarious. All the heroines are beautiful. Rest all are okay.

Director Tharun Bhascker gets good marks as a writer but should have worked more on the story. Comedy saved his day, however. Vivek Sagar came up with fresh and trendy music once again. Camera work compliments the set up of the road film. Editing is okay. The production values of Suresh Productions are excellent.

Tharun Bhascker even though came up with a weak story elevated it with natural taking and comedy. The story is nothing but the characterizations of the four friends but care is taken to etch them beautifully – Attitude (Vivek), Sincerity (Karthik), Kaushik (Comedy), and Upendra (Innocence). No scene is cinematic and will connect with the youth at many places which helped the movie work.

The movie gets a bit slow in the second half. The shortfilm scenes are lengthy but the comedy worked out. Due to lack of a strong story, characters go wayward in the second half a bit. Vivek’s character resembled Arjun Reddy and there are too many booze scenes. But then, the director seems to be targeting the youth with this film and it may have worked out to a good extent. Climax is also plain without any drama. Finally, Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi worked may work with the Youth with its comedy.
