Victory Venkatesh and Mega Prince Varun Tej are teaming up with Young Director Anil Ravipudi who is known for his hilarious comedy films. The Promotional Material of the film indicates that Venkatesh is in his elements after a long time and it can be a perfect Sankranthi Recipe. Let us see how F2 is received by the audience:
Harika (Tamannah) and Honey (Mehreen) are sisters. Venky (Venkatesh) works as PA to an MLA and marries Harika. While things looked good, Venky’s wife and mother-in-law try to take control of him. And then there is Varun Yadav (Varun Tej) who likes Honey but Venky tries to dissuade him from the marriage knowing the situation in the family. But Varun refuses to listen and gets married. Fate has similar things for Varun as well. Interesting things that follow in their lives after that forms the rest of the story.
. Star Shine:
Venkatesh is in his elements after a long time. The director full made use of his energy and comedy timing. He remains the highlight of the film. Varun Tej is at his usual self barring that Telangana accent which he tried for the first time. Tamannah is okay in a full-length role while Mehreen over-acted at places. Raghu Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Prakash Raj, Nassar are good in their roles. Annapurna and Y Vijaya are fine.
Anil Ravipudi picked up a wafer-thin story and has depended on his comedy and writing for the film. There are no suspense or twists to the film, he banked only on comedy and it worked also. Devi Sri Prasad’s songs are not much appealing but the background score has been fine. The Europe song is good. Sameer Reddy’s camera work is colorful. Editing by Bikkina Thammiraju is good. Production Values are appropriate.
F2 is precisely the story of two men who were harassed by their wives. We have seen numerous films with such stories in the past. But then the USP of this film is Venkatesh is at his hilarious best after a long time. His fun and frustration in the film take it to the next level. Complimenting him is the Pen Power of Anil Ravipudi who penned some hilarious dialogues. The first half is the biggest positive even though there is no much story but it keeps the audience to the fullest. The story moves to Europe in the second half. It is not at the level of the first half but is still decent. Finally, F2 is a perfect meal for the family and comedy-loving audience this Sankranthi.
