It is an open fact that filmmaking is a big process which involves lots of money. So, big shots involved in this business. But for the time in Tollywood history middle class and high ended people combined for making a film. Yes, 115 people from different zones produced upcoming film ‘Manu’.
Coming into the news, director Phanindra Narsetti has made this film with an innovative idea of crowdfunding through facebook. This news was revealed by the team in a trailer launch event. A while ago trailer of this suspense thriller was launched and the team who participate in the event revealed interesting facts.
Film director Phanindra Narsetti said, ‘From Rs 1000 to Rs 40 Lakh, many people around 115 members have donated to Manu and turned as a producer for this film. Nobody has asked for the return of their investment. Thanks to each and every one who has contributed money for this film.’
One of the presenter Raju of Nirvana Cinemas said, ‘About a year ago, we watched the teaser of Manu and we were blown away by it. We have distributed many successful films in the overseas like ‘Arjun Reddy’, ‘Mahanati’, etc., and opined that small and good films need backing.’
Film main hero Gautham said, ‘After watching the trailer, I just remembered the three years journey. My family/friends keep telling to me to come up with films on regular basis. I watched a short film titled Madhuram and called director Phanindra to appreciate. Causally I heard first 15 mins of #Manu plot and I told Phani that it is going to be a kick-ass film. One fine day, I randomly got a message from Phani that I’m playing the role of Manu. There were no limits to my happiness.’
He added, ‘I have to talk about actress Chandini. She was the only lady on the sets but she mingled with everyone. She used to reach the location on her. Her commitment and dedication are the next levels. Chandini nailed her role.’
Heroine Chandini said, ‘I know director Phanindra since 2012 and in 2013 I acted as the main lead in ‘Madhuram.’ Still, people talk about that film. I have immense confidence in Phani and whenever he approaches me without any second thought, I will do it. Manu started in September 2016 and in June 2017, we have wrapped up the shooting. My role is deep and has too many emotions. I’m still unable to get over the role.’
Brahmanandam’s son Gautham and Chandini Chowdary in the lead roles, Naresh Kumaran has composed music for the film and has cinematography by Vishwanath reddy. Watch this space for more updates.
