Actor Genelia D’ Souza, just about settling down to marital bliss in the Deshmukh household, has been going through quite a rough patch with reports of her being involved in a Rs 250-crore land-grab scam. An FIR to this effect was filed by one Tirupataiah at a local court in Hyderabad. The actress, who has never been away from such controversies so far, is naturally disturbed by this turn of events. Speaking to this newspaper, her spokesperson says, “Genelia does not endorse or sit on the board of directors of any real estate brand currently. Six years back, she had done a one-off campaign, a photo shoot, long before the project commenced. Beyond that she has absolutely nothing to do with the said project or the company. This information is news to Genelia and there is absolutely no truth in the matter.”Speaking about the deal with the company, the spokesperson says, “When Genelia got a call for this ad six years ago, she agreed because she was open to photo shoots and commercials and this offer seemed like any other project that comes her way. After her shoot, the company or anyone associated with it didn’t even contact her and she went on to doing films.”In fact, Genelia has nothing to do with properties in Hyderabad either. “She has a house and property in Mumbai and she’s happy with her investments, so she didn’t feel the need to invest in Hyderabad,” the spokesperson said.
