The Hindu Munnani Party protests against actress Trisha for trying to promote drinking among women. They have threatened to disrupt the shooting even in Hyderabad if she doesn’t apologize. The actor had said during a press conference of upcoming release “Ventadu Vetadu” that directors seemed to like shooting ‘drinking scenes’ with her as it apparently translated to box office magic and hits like Mankatha vouched for it. Trisha reportedly stated, “May be it’s like a sentiment for filmmakers.” Talking offence to the drinking reference, the Hindu Munnani party wrote to her asking her to withdraw her comments or face the indignation of Hindu activists. “Giving the excuse of a success formula and indulging in drinking scenes is nothing but encouraging the bad habit among women, So Trisha should tender an unconditional apology. Hindu culture doesn’t allow women to drink alcohol so any attempt to encourage it is unacceptable,” says Kannan, a top office-bearer of Hindu Munnani.
