A Total industry shutdown is still looming large even as the star films are gearing up for summer release. A joint action committee of South Indian Film Industries sat with the representatives of the Digital Content Providers the other day but the meeting is still inconclusive. They agreed to meet once again on 23rd of this month to come to a final conclusion. The JAC has confirmed that the shutdown decision is on as of now. So the industry will be shutdown from March 1st unless both the sides reach to an amicable solution in their next meeting.
If this shutdown really happens, it will impact the plans of stars who have pinned high hopes on Summer holidays to make it big at the box office. The Summer Race will begin with Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam releasing on March 30th. Stylish Star Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya – Naa Illu India and Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu are also being planned for April Release as Summer Special. These releases will be impacted if Tollywood goes on with this strike. Summer is a big season for all the industries given holidays for schools and colleges. So the impact will be huge.
