Director: Nandini Reddy
Behind the screens
Nandini Reddy’s Jabardasth is releasing amidst high expectations. Nandini Reddy is coming with her second film after a long gap from her hit film ‘Ala Modalaindi’. This film has crazy pair Siddharth and Samantha who are coming with hits at their back. Nitya Menon’s special appearance is another interest in the film. Let us see what feeling ‘Jabardasth’ given to the audience.
An orphan,Bairraju(Siddharth) escaping from a forced marriage with Bihari(Shayaji Shinde) sister as he did not repay the debt, bumps on Shreya(Samantha) an aspiring business woman. Both of them starts an event management company and earns good reputation in the market.
However in a turn of events misunderstanding occurs between them resulting their separation. Confident Bairraju and Shreya starts their own companies and suddenly they find themselves in front of Malaysian Mafia Don Javed Ibrahim(Srihari) who orders them to join hands and perform his sister’s marriage. Will they join hands or not, is to be found on silver screen.
Siddharth performed well and showed his skills as dancer in all the songs. His mass beats are a treat to watch. However he should improve his expressions and emotions to reach next level. Samantha looked beautiful in some scenes and she did show her expressions quite well. Nitya Menon in her special appearance in the end stole the show with her cute looks, though she compliments hero as cute. Shayaji Shinde, Telangana Sakuntala, Srihari, Dharmavarapu did justice to their roles.
Nandini Reddy in her pre release interview stated that the film is inspired by the climax of ‘Ala Modalaindi’. If one remembers the climax, the marriage scene will be haphazard with people running amok. She started the film with Siddharth running amok to escape from his creditors. Later everything is a free make of Band Baja Barath with hero, heroine teaming together and starting event Management Company.
The film’s storyline is nothing to boast of since the main aim is just to entertain with comedy tracks. Though it worked out to some extent in the first half since whenever viewers felt bored suddenly comedy scene appeared and making them laugh, second half dragged with hero hero-ine spilt up. Nitya Menon’s role is fine and the surprise element stunts all. Srihari is not utilised properly and even his make-up looked awkward. Climax could have been shot in a better manner.
Production values of Sri Sai Ganesh banner is fine. Thaman’s music is ok but background score could have been better. Editing is the main drawback in the film. Choreography is good which beautified the songs. Cinematography is good.
Movie lovers think twice to say ‘Jabardasth’ after watching ‘Jabardasth’.
