In what can be termed as another setback to AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Nampally CBI Court refused him the exemption from the court hearings about ED cases. Previously, the court already refused the exemption in relation to the CBI cases. The court agreed with ED Counsel’s argument that the accused in the severe financial fraud cases should definitely attend the court hearings.
Jagan is avoiding the court appearances saying that his high public office as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh needs him to be in Andhra Pradesh always. So far, Jagan attended the court only once ever since he assumed power. Today also, the Chief Minister gave a miss to the court while the other accused in the cases have attended. CM Jagan is Number 1 accused in the Rs 43,000 Crore CBI illegal assets cases. The Enforcement Directorate has also booked cases against the AP Chief Minister.
