Storyline:

Faizi (Dulquer Salman) is the only boy in the family which has got four girls. His father sends him to Switzerland to enroll him in a hotel management course. But Faizi joins in a Chef Course. The truth is revealed when his father fixes marriage with Shahana (Nithya Menen) and his father is anger. Faizi leaves to his grandfather’s village and later revives his grandfather’s Janatha Hotel. In the process, Faizi also realizes the value of life.

Star Shine:

Dulquer Salman sleepwalks through the role of Faizi almost effortlessly. Nithya Menen is cute and lived up to the expectations she set as an actress. Their chemistry worked out big time on screen. Tilakan is fine in a crucial role and the scenes between the grandfather and grandson have come out very well. Rest of the characters are okay.

Technical:

Anwar Rashid the director picked up a wafer-thin story and tried to weave it with emotions to keep the audience interested. He did a decent job in this film which mainly runs on the chemistry between the lead pair. Gopi Sundar’s music is excellent and compliments the flow of the film. Loganathan Srinivasan captured some finest visuals of the country side. Praveen Prabhakar’s editing has been disappointing with several scenes hindering the smooth flow of the story escaped his scissors. Production Values are okay to that of Malayalam Industry.

Analysis:

Janatha Hotel is the story of a chef narrated through his career point of view and also his love story. Even though the story offers nothing new, it has an excellent chemistry between the lead pair and some moments which are emotionally moving. On the flipside, there are serious pace issues which bore the audience. Finally, it is an okay affair to try once.
