Krishna And His Leela Movie Review

Movie: Krishna And His Leela

Rating: 2.75/5

Director: Ravikanth Perepu

Behind the Scenes:

Ravikanth Perepu who delivered a well-made thriller like Kshanam changed gear and came up with a Rom-Com like Krishna And His Leela with a relatively new actor like Sidhu Jonnalagadda. The movie could not release in the theaters due to the Corona Pandemic and has released on Netflix directly. Let us see how the movie releasing today will connect to the audience.

Story:

Krishna (Sidhu Jonnalagadda) is a confused youngster. When he breaks up with a Girl, Satya (Shraddha Srinath), he calls for another girl, Radha (Shalini) in his college. But then, life takes an unexpected twist when he goes to Bengaluru after getting a job. Satya comes back to his life making things complicated. What happens next in his life forms the rest.

Performances:

Casting has worked big time for the film and all the characters were natural. Sidhu is effortless in the role of a confused lover. Shraddha Srinath appeared a little elder to Sidhu but she delivered a decent act. Shalini who played Radha performed well. Seerat Kapoor performed well as well. Harsha Chemudu managed the laughs which are expected of him. Jhansi and Sampath Raj appear in little roles and are fine. The rest are okay.

Technical Performances:

Ravikanth who made a successful debut with Kshanam four years back came up with a different subject. Even though we get to see such Rom-Coms quite often in Bollywood, it is relatively fresh for the Telugu audience. The treatment is fresh as well accompanied by good writing. The music composed by Sricharan Pakala is an asset to the film. Some of the background scores particularly that of the second half also evoked laughter. The camera work suits the mood of the film. Editing is crisp. Production values are appropriate.

Analysis:

The first half of Krishna And His Leela starts slow. The director takes his time to move into the story. Things turn interesting as the story moves to Bengaluru. The confusion is handled well and the right mix of humor keeps the audience interested till the end. The director stuck to the basics in the Climax and ended it fine. The cool soundtrack and the natural act of the lead cast make it pleasant. Finally, Krishna and His Leela come as much-needed relief in these stressful times. Watch it to get relieved. It would have been a success in the theaters as well.
