Krishnarjuna Yudham Review

Movie: Krishnarjuna Yudham

Rating: 2.75/5.0

Direction: Merlapaka Gandhi

Behind the Screens:

Natural Star Nani is have a dream run in his career with back to back successes and his market ballooning with every film. At this juncture, he is attempting a dual role film with Krishnarjuna Yudham.. Let us see how the movie releasing today has fared with the audience.

Storyline:

Krishna (Nani) a village lad from Chittoor and Arjun (Nani) a rockstar are similarly looking guys without any blood relation.  Krishna is in love with Riya while Arjun is with Subbalakshmi. While things are going on well a twist in the story makes things topsyturvy. Rest is all about how they fight together to solve the problem.

Star Shine:

Nani is seen in a dual role as Krishna and Arjuna. He earned brownie points in the role of Krishna with Chittoor dialect and innocence. However, Nani struggled to get into the skin of the character of a rockstar. Even the role is also not written well. Anupama is decent in a limited role like Subba Lakshmi while the newcomer Rukshar looked good but failed to impress the audience with her skills. Brahmaji, Sudharshan, and Mahesh managed some laughs here and there.

Technical:

Merlapaka Gandhi who did an excellent job with Venkatadri Express and Express Raja seems to be clearly struggling in the film. Arjun Character and the second half seems to be the weaklink in this film. Comedy worked in parts. Karthik Ghattamaneni’s camera work is brilliant. Some very good rural and urban locales are captured. Hiphop Tamizha came up with decent songs but the songs in the second half are badly placed. Their background score is not up to the mark. Editing should have been better in the second half.

Analysis:

Krishnarjuna Yudham first half is fun with a good twist towards an interesting concept of Women Trafficking towards the Interval. Krishna Character is the major highlight of the film and invokes the comedy which we expect for a Nani’s film. The second half is okay but lacks the high moments needed to excite the audience. Krishnarjuna Yudham is a decent film which would have crossed the line if the second half is dealt more carefully.
