More than thousands of Kuchipudi dancers achieved a unique fete at Gachchibowli stadium, Hyderabad yesterday by entering into Guinness Book of Records with their sensational performance.
The third international Kuchipudi Dance Convention organised by Silicon Andhra at the Balayogi stadium here on Tuesday has entered the Guinness Book of World Records.
Around 5794 dancers entered into Guinness records and Union Minister Purandareswari commended the performances for the dancers. She said India is the birthplace for many traditional dances and arts. Purandareswari recollected her experiences and association with Vempati China satyam. State IT Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah sated Kuchipudi which is 500yrs old is the pride of Telugu people. Guinness Book of World Records representative Praveen Patel handing over the record confirmation certificates stated that the dancers entered into Guinness records. Praveen arrived from London to inspect the process. Organisers stated that 7 representatives from other 18 countries and around 17 thousand participated in the event.
