MAA which has been voicing its opposition to VAT once again put across its views strongly in a press conference held at Hyderabad yesterday. MAA President Murali Mohan said already stars, technicians and those associated with it are paying professional and Income tax. He said inspite of this the additional tax levied by Govt on film industry is becoming a burden. He said Govt rider that irrespective of whether one gets money from producer or not they should pay taxes smacks of logic. Tammareddy Bharadwaj said entire film industry is protesting against service tax and as solidarity on 7th Southern film industry will be protesting. He said a letter would be sent to Union Finance Minister on the whole issue. Producers Council secretary Kodali Venkateswara Rao said whoever gets taxed ultimately it will effect the producer. Sagar, Maddineni Ramesh, Siva Krishna and others participated in the meet.
