Veteran Filmmaker Mani Ratnam who is going through the rough patch of his career is keen to bounce back with his upcoming entertainer, Nawaab. The movie shooting is currently happening in Dubai. With this schedule, most of the talkie part will be completed except for some patchwork. The team is planning to release the movie in September. The movie titled Chekka Chivantha Vaanam in Tamil and its Telugu version, Nawaab will release simultaneously.
Vijay Sethupathi, Aravind Swami, Simbu, Arun Vijay, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aishwarya Rajesh, Dayana, and Jyothika are playing key roles in the film which was a social thriller. The film will be made in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions. Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman is scoring music. Lyca Productions’ Subaskaran and Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies are producing this film in which Bollywood beauty Aditi Rao Hydari is playing the female lead. Arvind Swami and Mani Ratnam worked together in Roja, Dhalapathi, Bombay, and Kadal, this will be the race director’s maiden collaboration with Vijay Sethupathi, Simbu, and Arun Vijay.
The ace director is out of form for a long time. Except for Ok Bangaram which is a decent result, none of his recent films worked at the box office. His last film, Cheliya is a big disaster at the box office. The fans of the director are eager to see him get back to winning ways with this film. Let us see if this multi-starrer film will be the one film the fans are waiting for a very long time.
