Mickey J Meyer is composing music for Mahanati – The Biopic of the Legendary film actress, Savitri. The audio release event of the movie will happen tomorrow in Hyderabad. The young music director has interacted with the media on this occasion. Here are the excerpts of his interview:
How is it working for the film?
I am very happy working for a great film like this. Mahanati will be a milestone in my career. The film will unravel many hidden secrets behind the life of Savitri. The audience will be thrilled to watch it on screen.
How is your work for this film?
I felt it is a very challenging project. I struggled for one and half year for this project.
How is the Output?
The songs have come up very well. I always like experimenting with my films. I do them in every film of mine. I have experimented with this film as well. There is a good response for the two songs released so far.
Homework for this film?
I watched many films of Savitri garu before deciding the songs. I tried to use the old music style and as well as match them to the legendary actress’ acting and expressions.
Did you find it tough to work for Pure Telugu songs?
I did not find it trouble. I composed tunes for all the songs and later Sirivennela Sita Rama Sastry garu wrote the lyrics so I did not feel it as a big trouble.
How is it working with Naga Ashwin?
I know Nag Ashwin for a very long time. He talks very less and thinks a lot. He is a very good man and it is an experience working with him. His vision for Cinema is really great.
Why did you not get a proper hit after Happy Days?
Films like Happy Days happens once in a career. Everyone speaks about the film whenever they talk to me. Every film can not become Happy Days. Every movie is special in its own way.
Why did you not work with big commercial films?
Frankly, I do not like Commercial films much. So, I do not do them. Also, I do not want to be busy with films always. So I do not run after such films and will do only those films which comes my way.
