Item girl Mumait Khan has roped in 10 actresses to participate in stage shows, titled Southern Carnival. Tollywood’s favourite item girl Mumait Khan is all set to start a new entertainment firm and is teaming up with ten actresses from South Indian film industries to embark on a whirlwind tour of stage performances across the south. Similar to the concept of unforgettable concerts where Big B toured the world with his son and daughter-in-law, our sources tell us that Reema Sen, Mamta Mohandas, Bindu Madhavi and music director Devi Sri Prasad are all likely to be involved. The tour will mark the first time actresses in such number from South have performed on one stage.
Beginning with Vizag and Vijaywada, there will be shows in ten more cities, with a two-and-a-half hour TV telecast to come later. Sources also tell us that Mumait aims to use the occasion to launch her entertainment firm, Sugarcandy Entertainment, which will produce this Southern Carnival. When contacted, Mumait revealed that she is doing so to start a culture of stage shows and even plans to produce movies and TV shows in the future. "I started off as a standby dancer in movies and now I have a huge fan base. I want to start my own entertainment firm to give opportunities to artistes like me with talent," says Mumait.
Currently shooting for Nenu Naa Raakshasi with Rana and Ileana in the lead, Mumait plans to launch her firm on a grand scale by throwing a launch party for her Tollywood buddies in the city next week.
