Yesterday (October 31st), ABN Andhra Jyothy conducted an ‘Open Debate’ program on Tollywood Piracy in a private hotel ‘Dasapalla’ in Hyderabad. Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, C.I.D officer (IG) Kaumudi and almost all the top producers of Tollywood participated.
This program was organized by ABN chief Vemuri Radha Krishna and this debit was done nearly 4hours against Video Piracy, Theatres Lease and many problems in Tollywood film industry.
During the program, many producers openly lamented that Geetha Reddy is not at all bothered to address the piracy.
Dil Raju became very emotional during that program. He revealed that he had to pay money to several people who indulge in piracy not to bring the pirated CDs into the market for two weeks from the date of movie release. He also stated that, later I stopped this practice since I felt that I am indirectly encouraging the elements who indulge in the piracy.
Immediately sensing that the situation might embarrass her government, Sabitha Indra Reddy said that she would take the issue of curbing the piracy in her own hands. She also told that the draft for making the ‘PD Act Bill’ ready and in the next assembly sessions it will make it an act by the approval of the assembly.
