Padmaavat Into 200 Crore Club in India

Despite releasing amidst intense protests and being banned in four Indian states, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Padmaavat has emerged as a huge blockbuster at the Box Office. The movie’s India Business has arrived at 212.5 Crore. After collecting 166.5 Crore in the first week, the movie has added another 46 Crore Gross in the second weekend of its release. It has to be seen if the movie will get to the 300 Crore Gross mark with Pad Man going to hit the screens on February 9th. The movie has grossed over 20.5 Million Dollars at the Overseas Box Office.
The film’s leading stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor performance and the captivating visuals of the epic story make to grab record collections. Padmaavat is all about the story of Alauddin Khilji who desired a Rajput queen Rani Padmavati. Padmavati was the queen of Chittor and she is believed to have killed herself rather than letting Khilji capture her. Padmaavat is the first Indian film which had a global IMAX 3D release.
