We have seen Rajput Karni Sena protesting against ‘Padmaavat’ alleging that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has tampered the history and demeaned Maharani Padmavathi. The movie was even banned in some states and Karni Sena created violence and vandalized the properties during the initial days of the movie release. And now, Krish’s Bollywood film, ‘Manikarnika’ is also facing the same problem.
Brahmin outfit Sarva Brahman Maha sabha demanded the makers to share complete details of the film’s story to rule out any tampering with facts. ‘Manikarnika’ is the biopic on the valiant Rani Laxmibai. They threatened not to allow the movie release if not. The film’s producer, Kamal Jain responded to the threat saying that they have taken utmost care while portraying Rani Laxmibai’s character and have consulted historians and scholars. They also confirmed that the film doesn’t portray anything objectionable about Rani Laxmibai and nor has the film distorted the history in any way.
Kangana Ranaut is playing the titular role in the film and the shooting of the movie is progressing at a brisk pace. The film will be dubbed into all Indian languages since it is a universal subject. Sources say that the war episodes will be the major highlight of the film and they will be shot on a scale that has not been seen before on Indian screens. The movie will be seen sometime in the next year and the makers are yet to announce a release plan. A hit here will mean that Krish will become a national wide name.
