Today is popular singer and music director Pendyala Nageswara Rao’s Jayanthi.He was born at Vanukuru near Vijayawada on March 6th, 1917 and later shifted to Katur. He ruled tollywood for more than 25yrs from early 1950’s to late 1970s. He shared great comradiere with Mikkilineni Radhakrishna Murthy and they were students of Kapilavai Ramanatha Sastry. They mastered the art of acting and singing poems under him. His father Sitaramaiah and ancestors were music exponents. Kadaru Nagabhushanam impressed with his talent offered  his orchestra to work in Talli Prema in 1941. From then on there is no looking back for him as KS.Prakash Rao made him music director for Drohi which earned him good name. He provided memorable melodies in over 100 films. Some of his films include Donga Ramudu, Melukolupu, MLA, Bhagya Rekha, Sabari, Sri Venkateswara Mahatyam, Jagadeka Veeruni Kadha, Vagdanam, Mahamantri Timmarasu, Kulagotralu, Dana Veera Soora Karna, Sri Rama Pattabhishekam, Sri Krishna Satya, Ramudu Bheemudu.
