Grammy Award-winner A.R. Rahman’s anthem for the recently concluded ‘Commonwealth Games’ may have provoked mixed reactions, but the musician says he feels encouraged by his fans’ reactions. "I want to sincerely thank all those who gave me extremely positive and encouraging responses when `Jiyo Utho Badho Jeetho’ released. Your honest, positive and unbiased reactions and getting the right perspective gave me the confidence to withstand the unexpected storm that followed. All’s well, that ends well," he wrote in a note that he published on a social networking site.
He spoke about how words of encouragement came from his own colleagues. "In a personal interaction, Javed Akhtar saab said, `Don’t worry Rahman saab, every time you come up with something new, people tell me that you are finished. 20 days later, they start humming it," he said.
ARR also congratulated the athletes who helped India secure the second place in the medals tally at the CWG. "In closing, congratulations to Team India on their superb performance at the games and for living the motto `Jiyo Utho Badho Jeeto.’" The musician signed off as `Tax payer, composer and performer’ and the first description has brought him a flood of cheer from his fans!
